Join Seaborn for a special screening of Vanishing Sail--a beautiful film about traditional wooden boatbuilding on Carriaccou Island. To mark the summer solstice, Seaborn will be announcing an exciting new project to guests in attendance.
Calling all oyster lovers (or those who want to be!) Seaborn Oyster Co. is bringing High Water Festival attendees four exclusive oyster education classes, teaching you everything you’ve ever wanted to know about Charleston’s favorite bivalve!
The one-hour classes, each limited to 15 people and taking place at 1:30 and 3:30pm Saturday and Sunday, will introduce the basics of oysters and oyster-farming and will provide students with the skills and insight needed to shuck and enjoy oysters on their own. Each guest will shuck and taste a dozen oysters from Seaborn Oyster Co. No prior experience with or knowledge of oysters, oyster-tasting, or oyster-shucking is necessary. Beginners welcome!
Ticket cost is $50 per person. NOTE: Oyster Education Classes are available as an add-on during your festival pass purchasing process.

This workshop will introduce the basics of knots and ropework and will explore the techniques at the heart of marlinspike seamanship. All guests will learn to tie a set of classic and versatile knots that can be used on land or at sea and will learn the fundamentals of splicing. Whether you've always wondered how to secure that mattress to the top of your car or lash your dog to a parking meter for a quick moment, these wonders will be mysteries no more. No prior knowledge or experience necessary.
